The pandemic is giving us a “life lesson”

Question from the Internet:

“What is a good mindset to have for a pandemic?”

A good mindset for the pandemic is the willingness to learn from the pandemic what it tries to teach us.

Although we have been talking about a global world, global connections, interdependence it was mostly lip service until now.

But now the pandemic very sharply forces on us the very tangible sensation of what this global interconnection, interdependence means. Suddenly the whole world is fighting, suffering from the same “non-Human” problem.

On the other hand we are also proving to ourselves how woefully inadequate, self-defeating the usual cocky, unfounded, individualistic, nationalistic reactions, “solutions” are, everybody only caring about their own health, survival, mostly at the expense of others.

We are in a global pandemic without any cooperation, leadership provided, fake news, secrecy, the usual exclusive competition going on everywhere.

And besides the pandemic we could mention many other - also unsolved, constantly worsening - global crisis situations.

So the message, lesson we can learn is very daunting: if we don’t learn urgently how to build mutually responsible, mutually complementing interconnections, cooperation, above and against everything that separates, rejects us from each other, we will not survive!

This is how simple, and extremely realistic the message of the pandemic is!
