The pandemic as wakeup call!
Question from the Internet:
“How many lives have been lost from COVID-19 because many countries refused to enact recommended restrictions during the pandemic?”
On one hand it is very difficult to know the information you are asking about, overall we don’t know who dies directly from the Coronavirus, who died - who were already very sick before - as the virus gave them the final push, we still don’t know the reason for the mind-boggling national differences, etc.
On the other hand I agree with you, it is not only failing to implement restrictions properly, but all other individual, national, global reactions, “solutions” in relation to the pandemic were absolutely woeful, inadequate, damaging.
Most importantly, when the pandemic for the first time in modern times showed us how much we exist in an inevitably closed, interlocked global system, where everybody depends on everybody else and we all have absolute mutual responsibility towards each other, we still try to succeed at each other’s expense.
At least we have now openly revealed what is the main reason behind Humanity’s perpetual crisis situations, the constant threat of self-destruction, which will only get worse now as the socio-economic crisis will worsen. Our utter inability to connect, cooperate above differences, despite instinctive distrust, animosity.
Unless we can learn these lessons and implement the necessary changes, leaders will soon call for the usual, “historic” solution for unsolvable socio-economic meltdown: world war!
So it is in our best interest to learn as soon as possible how to adapt ourselves to the global, integral conditions we have evolved into through the appropriate, global, integral education!
