Thank you for the article. I fully agree; we will continue with our Jewish history or near misses and constant existential threats unless we understand the inner message of Purim and all our other holidays and the actual inner message of the Torah and the Jewish way of life.
As the article also says, the major message of the “Purim story” is that when we are “scattered,” when we accept and take on the method and lifestyle of others, which inevitably also turns us against one another, we can only lose and we face terrible catastrophes.
In fact, we never truly fight external enemies; external enemies come against us when they see us as weak and infighting.
When Jews were united and thus strong, they overcame empires and subjugated forces that were quantitatively much stronger.
Jewish life is never theoretical. It always unfolds in the “flesh.” Very soon, we will face exactly what prophets predicted: the whole world standing against Jerusalem, everybody wanting to wipe Israel and Jews off the map and out of history books.
No hasbara and no army can stand against such force and hate.
Only by connecting to and harnessing reality’s single governing force — by becoming similar to its qualities of unconditional love and bestowal between each other through our unity and mutual guarantee — can we prevail and fulfill our role in the world.
