The message of Purim to Jews
An article in The Jerusalem Post:
My comment:
I think it would be much more useful to concentrate on the message of Purim to Jews, the same message Hannukah sends us.
As long as we are “a scattered Nation” that has lost connection with reality’s single governing force due to our inner separation and mutual animosity, we are easy prey to anyone who wants to attack and annihilate us.
This is the formula of millennia-long Jewish history, expressed through different “stories.”
The “lot,” the choice before Jews, is always the same: do we Jews our own existential method, or do we succumb to the methods of others and try to assimilate?
Do we continue our “supernatural” — above and against the inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egoistic, and exploitative human nature — path that is symbolized by selfless and unconditional unity and mutually complementing cooperation?
If we do, we maintain a connection with nature’s fundamental laws of integrality, we agree with the processes that create and nurture life, and we can harness and use nature’s single governing and life-creating force to our advantage.
The moment we forsake our original Jewish method, we face existential danger and all the horrors our people experienced throughout history.
