The meaning of “being Human”

Question from the Internet:

“What does it really mean to be a human?”

The easiest way to understand what it means to “be Human” is starting with the origin of the word itself.

In Hebrew “Human” is expressed as “Adam”, which word comes from the expression “similar”.

A “Human being” is one, who becomes similar to the only perfect template we have in this world, which is Nature’s perfectly balanced, integral system.

This means that we, who are born as instinctively self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and proudly, fiercely individualistic “humanoids”, have to consciously, purposefully become as selfless, altruistic, mutually responsible, and mutually completing towards each other as the cells, organs of our own biological bodies.

It is this conscious self-improvement, self-upgrade above and against our instincts that will raise us to the “truly Human” level, as we consciously methodically integrate with each other and by that integrate into Nature in contrast to other animals that are blindly, instinctively integrated by birth.

This conscious “becoming similar to Nature” will make us Nature’s only integrated but independent observers, witnesses, partners. This is our unique evolutionary Human purpose.
