The “Martians” would understand…

“How would you explain to people returning from Mars after several years without contact exactly what’s going on on Earth right now?”

Unless they went through a mutation, or implemented a unique educational method on themselves which changes, upgrades inherent Human nature, they would know exactly what happened - as probably they went through the same self-destructive process on Mars.

This is the greatest flaw in the idea of colonizing other planets, escaping our seemingly inevitable demise on Earth.

The movie “Ad Astra” already hinted at this - that without changing ourselves, without learning how to act against, above our inherently selfish, egotistic, exploitative nature for the sake of the collective - we will repeat the same vicious, destructive historic cycles until we consume everything and everyone like cancer.

Thus “regular Martians” would go through the same crisis situations, wars, violence - probably they wouldn’t even be able to return to Earth.

It doesn’t matter where we live - unless we learn can how to change ourselves, how to become a mutually responsible, mutually complementing Human “super-organism” with a unique collective intelligence, we will destroy ourselves sooner or later.
