The ideal Human civilization

Question from the Internet:

How does an ideal civilization differ from real civilization?

My answer:

Real civilization – and the millennia-long human history with all of its inventions, achievements and development – is based on the unique, 100% self-serving, self-justifying and exploitative human ego.

Especially our modern Western society – all “developing” societies also thrive to emulate – is only about the narcissistic and self-serving individual who succeeds and prospers at the expense of others people and nature. It does not matter what we believe and what we preach, when we look at our actual aspirations and actions, we all exist and behave like cancer – consuming everything we can put our hands on while completely ignoring the consequences. This is an inbuilt and addictive behaviour, we simply cannot live and behave in any other way, since this is how evolution programmed us.

Ideal civilization works like nature’s life-creating and life-nurturing system.

And if “nature” is too big for us to comprehend, then we can look at how our biological body works to get an understanding how a mutually integrated and mutually interdependent living system – human society and humanity is also such a system – should work.

IN integral natural systems each and every element totally selflessly and unconditionally serves and complements the whole system, making every calculations with the system’s balance and homeostasis in mind – over and many times against individual or selfish calculations. Obviously, each element in nature also thrives to fulfill its own natural necessity, but never at the expense of the wellbeing and optimal development of the whole system.

This kind of “natural behaviour” is totally alien to us. This is why we need to methodically and willingly learn and practice how to exist and behave like healthy cells of the same, single living system. This is not something that we have a choice about. How we will need to shape the future, ideal human civilization is obligated and determined by absolute and unchanging natural laws.

Our only choice is about whether we reach such an ideal human civilization – a globally integrated and mutually complementing one – through worsening blows and intolerable suffering, or we start a sensitive, humble, willing and conscious process of self-develeopment, aligning ourselves with nature’s laws and system.
