Question from the Internet:
“Are you willing to give up the life you have now, the comfort and safety, in order to preserve the planet?”
I can honestly say that I am willing, as it is very clear to me that the excessively overconsuming, ruthlessly competitive “Matrix” we built and live in, inevitably leads to self-destruction — even within this generation.
On the other hand, when it comes to practical implementation this becomes very difficult, as individually it is simply impossible to disconnect from the influence of the general environment.
Moreover, even if I was strong enough and set up a remote life “off the grid” living in harmony with Nature, my individual actions would not change the course of life for mankind and the impending global catastrophe would reach me wherever I go, even if I build a super bunker somewhere.
This is why all the changes w would like to do need to be mutual, collective, involving at least a small, but critical minority that could pull the rest behind them towards safety.
Moreover, we also know that any changes, especially such fundamental ones that relate to the lifestyle we are used to, can only be achieved without coercion, misleading propaganda, or fearmongering. Only when people join willingly, through positive motivation, fully understanding that the changes are for their own benefit, only then will the changes become sustainable, real.
Here we find ourselves in a classic “good cop/bad cop” situation.
As we see from the experiences of the pandemic, and what we see in relation to climate change, Nature is ruthless in a way, that it is based on, governed by strict, unchanging, unforgiving laws. Thus as long as we ignore, break those laws — the laws the sustain the general balance and homeostasis life depends on — we will only sink ever deeper into crisis and experience blows after blows until intolerable suffering will awaken us, forcing us to rethink.
So Nature will provide the increasing coercion, negative force applied from behind.
If at the same time — through the previously mentioned critical minority — we provide a unique positive example, through a special, purposeful, and practical educational method built on the laws of Nature, then the rest of the desperately helpless majority suffering the blows will follow those pioneers who show the way.
The most important thing is that we can change only ourselves and by that show example to others. We can’t force, lecture, threaten others as that will never work. Thus that sensitive, willing, switched-on minority will need to change themselves, how they relate to each other and to Nature through their positive, mutually supportive, mutually complementing cooperation.
As a result of becoming more and more similar to Nature’s integration in their mutual connections they can calm, positively influence things around them, they will start solving problems and prevent new ones. This positive influence and example will gently pull and “convince” the rest as at the same time they see the horrific potential scenarios unfolding without changing.
This is how we will be able to change our lifestyles and build a better world together, showing the positive examples always a step ahead of the merciless blows from Nature if we do not change.
