The fundamental, universal motivator behind human behaviour
Question from the Internet:
“What are the most universal motivations for human endeavours?”
The most universal motivation for all human endeavours is our insatiable, ever-growing desire for existence and our self-fulfilment with pleasures while distancing ourselves from pain.
This is the basic software of existence in Nature, as other living beings in the system are also driven by this survival instinct and pleasure/pain principle.
The difference between other parts of Nature and humans is that the human drive is unlimited and it is uncontrolled by Nature’s general balance and homeostasis which other parts of Nature adhere to.
We pursue self-fulfilment and securing our existence at all costs, regardless of the consequences, even if we destroy everything in our path like cancer. Knowingly, unknowingly we succeed and secure our continuing existence at the expense of others and Nature.
This is the motivation, pattern we find behind history’s helplessly recurring vicious cycles and behind the perpetual crisis situations plaguing our own generation.
Only when we understand this inherent program in us — installed by evolution without our free choice — and use our unique Human intellect — also installed by evolution — to recognize and correct the cancer-like traits in us can we start changing our course from blind and destructive to conscious and constructive.
