The connection between the 2008 financial crisis and the unfolding crisis after the present pandemic

I think we can use the following parallel:
In 2008 it was the chronically sick human system going to the doctor, receiving the diagnosis of a potentially deadly, terminal illness.

The patient, Humanity - instead of a real treatment - used symptomatic relief, covering the symptoms, convincing itself that everything is going to be alright, continuing the lifestyle that had caused the serious illness.

This time it is different.

This time the doctor tells the bad news that the disease had spread, the cancer has metastasized, there is no cure. The only thing that can be done is preparing the descendants to choose a different lifestyle.

Our socio-economic system is dead and no amount of bailout, stimulus packages can resuscitate it.

With our artificial, excessive, exploitative system that is harmful both towards Nature and Human beings we are truly behaving like cancer in Nature’s fully integrated, interdependent system.

But we don’t really cause harm to Nature itself - as we could see through the quarantine how Nature can and will repair itself effortlessly when we stop our harmful activity this way or that way.

We are consuming, destroying only ourselves!

So are we wise enough to save ourselves - not our present state that’s over, but a future, different Human system - that is built on Nature’s blueprint of mutual integration and living according to natural necessities and available resources?!
