Technology — as a mere tool — “behaves” the way we behave

“Technology has been a principle driver of globalization. Has it established camaraderie or has it divided humanity?”
Technology didn’t drive globalization. Globalization — existence in a globally integrated, interdependent world — is our obligatory evolutionary state as we have to get closer to compatibility with Nature’s fully integrated, interdependent system.
Technology is simply a tool. Our camaraderie or separation depends on human nature, how we relate to each other. In that technology can help us either way.
Since we are inherently egocentric, self-serving and thrive on ruthless, exclusive competition, and since our ego has been growing, intensifying through Human history, at this stage we are progressing towards increasing separation, division, towards success, survival at each other’s expense.
And as a result we use everything — including technology - in the same direction, for exploiting, brainwashing others, spying on others, to build weapons of mass destruction, etc.
But the same technology could help us to unite, cooperate worldwide if we changed how we behave, with what intentions, goals we connect to each other.
