Spiritual Pleasure

Our lives are often consumed by the relentless pursuit of personal pleasures, driven by an inherently self-centered, self-serving, and individualistic nature. At every moment, our existence revolves around the endless cycle of sensing and fulfilling our desires. Yet, paradoxically, the more we strive to satisfy ourselves, the more we encounter emptiness, disappointment, and depression. This perpetual dissatisfaction stems from the fact that we are not aligned with reality’s single, deterministic, and purposeful evolutionary plan — a plan that calls us to seek and attain true, lasting, and perfect pleasure.

True pleasure in existence arises from feeling the single life-creating and governing force of nature directly enlivening and permeating us. This profound experience becomes possible only when we approach this force by becoming similar to its qualities. To do so, we must transcend our inherently selfish, egotistical nature and instead embody the all-encompassing, godly qualities of unconditional love and bestowal. These qualities act through us, enabling actions far beyond our natural instincts.

This process is analogous to feeling and measuring electricity or other forces — not directly, but through the objects or systems they animate. Similarly, the single creating and governing force cannot be felt directly. It reveals itself through its actions within and among us, helping us achieve states of selflessness and unconditional love that we could never attain alone.

Such transformation is cultivated within a unique, supportive environment where individuals mutually commit and dedicate themselves to the pursuit of selfless love and bestowal. As they strive together, they inevitably confront their deeply rooted, 100% selfish and exploitative nature. This inner conflict, known as the “recognition of evil,” becomes a pivotal moment. It reveals how thoroughly the ego enslaves us, opposing every effort to connect and serve others selflessly. Yet, this painful recognition also inspires a powerful yearning to rise above the ego, as participants elevate the importance of their shared goal — attaining the loving and creating force of reality.

This journey fosters a clear intellectual and emotional differentiation between our original selfish qualities and the altruistic, godly qualities of the single creating force. Gradually, individuals come to a desperate realization: despite their utmost efforts, they lack the power to achieve these divine qualities on their own. They begin to feel that only the single evolutionary force of nature can grant them this transformation, lifting them above their inherent nature.

Even the ability to genuinely request this assistance requires divine help. Our deeply ingrained ego resists abandoning the only way of life it knows. Thus, the true need and request for this transformation — to acquire new, supernatural qualities — must also come from the single governing force. When this profound need emerges, individuals fervently desire to cleanse themselves of every selfish intention, turning each into a pure, altruistic desire to love and serve others. This purification process, akin to refining gold through intense heat, strips away every trace of ego until only the purest aspirations remain.

Within the supportive environment, the mutual efforts of inherently selfish individuals generate the necessary “heat” to facilitate this transformation. As their egos clash and resist, they become increasingly aware of the “waste” (selfish intentions) and the “pure gold” (altruistic aspirations). Through their collective yearning and efforts, they reach a state where the single operating force intervenes, separating the ego’s waste from the pure intentions and fashioning a godly mutual integration among them.

In this state of pure integration, individuals experience the joy of acting like the creating and governing force itself. They feel this force enabling their selfless actions and recognize it as the source of their transformation. This clear sense of partnership with the single operating force — a force that gives life purpose and meaning — is the greatest pleasure, fulfillment, and self-realization possible.

In contrast, the fleeting physical pleasures of this world, focused solely on fulfilling selfish desires, lead to the destructive problems plaguing humanity. Spiritual pleasure, however, derived from perfect mutual integration and sensing the single creating force acting between people, is a permitted pleasure. This pleasure not only fulfills individuals but also gives contentment to the governing force itself, as it realizes its purpose in creating humanity — to provide this sublime spiritual fulfillment.

To sense and enjoy this spiritual pleasure, we must strive to become similar to the Creator in our behavior toward others. By achieving this similarity, we tangibly sense the Creator’s presence and fully justify its benevolence as the single, loving force in reality. This attainment is the ultimate purpose of human life. The Hebrew word for human, “Adam,” meaning “similar,” reflects this profound destiny. By embracing this path, we fulfill our true potential and experience the boundless joy of living in harmony with the Creator’s will.
