Question from the Internet:
“How do you answer the question “Describe your aspirations for social change and how you plan to achieve social change through your career”?”
Our personal aspirations do not matter much in this respect, as what changes Human society needs to go through is determined by Natural evolution. So it does not depend on Human ideology, philosophy.
Fortunately, by now we have vast historic experience — seeing all the vicious historic cycles, how we keep building and destroying one civilization after another — and we ourselves are standing at the threshold of our own civilization-ending explosion.
So it is now easier to accept that with our inherently egocentric, subjective consciousness, knowledge, aspiration we will not be able to solve our mounting problems, we will not be able to build a better, more equal, peaceful, and sustainable Human society.
As someone else answered this question, social change needs to be “organic”, but in our case, this does not mean an automatic process. If we wait for an automatic, organic process we will have to go through immense pain, intolerable suffering until people will understand that they need to change themselves first in order to build a better society.
So the “organic change” we need is a unique education, which can teach us, make us feel how to rebuild Human society on Nature’s integral template, where we all interconnect through mutually responsible, mutually complementing interconnections, cooperation — above and against our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egotistic nature.
We can all help this process — that is obligated by Nature’s evolution and we will have to go through it either consciously or as a result of blows from behind — by agreeing to enter this educational process to change, upgrade ourselves and help others to take part in this process as well.
But we cannot coerce, trick people into this, as only changes that are achieved through positive motivation, positive examples, people willingly joining are sustainable.
