So far we haven’t learned anything from the pandemic
Question from the Internet:
“Have we learned anything from the year 2020 about controlling potential future worldwide pandemics?”
It doesn’t seem so to me. Moreover it seems the only thing we care about is to feel the pandemic behind us so we could return to “normal" whatever that means.
Nature showed us how unprepared we are to cope with global problems as we all approach everything through our inherently selfish, egotistic, subjective, individualistic/nationalistic nature, calculations.
But we behave like children sent to the corner to contemplate on what problem they caused, but they only wait to get out of the corner and continue everything as before.
At the moment we know that if a more devastating, more serious pandemic, plague comes, it will wipe most of humanity out, not to mention large scale wars we can sleepwalk into and the constantly worsening socioeconomic, environmental scenario.
We have no chance for problem-solving, collective survival without learning how to decide, act, cooperate mutually above and against our inherent nature.
