Should we focus on short term problems like the pandemic, or we should focus on longer-term problems like climate change?

I do not think there is any difference since the root cause for both short and long term problems is the same.

We are in deepening global crisis in relation to all facets of Human activity, we are in constant war with Nature due to our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, excessively overconsuming, egotistic nature that makes us completely incompatible with Nature’s laws sustaining balance and homeostasis.

As the short pause in this harmful, excessive Human activity showed, Nature’s system immediately repairs itself, revives processes, even seemingly extinct parts, species as soon as we withdraw ourselves. Even seismic activities and processes that are part of the climate change lessened, reversed during the lockdown.

This is not surprising.

Although in quantity we are minuscule compared to other parts of Nature, qualitatively we are the highest level elements of the system. Moreover, we are the only part with true consciousness, with the ability of critical self-assessment, free choice.

Our evolutionary Human role, the purpose is not blindly following our inherent program, and as cancer consume, squeeze everything out of the system till the last drop, destroying everything including ourselves.

Our unique, Human evolutionary role is to recognize the self-destructive nature of our inherent program and to purposefully, consciously, methodically apply a necessary “Natural upgrade” into our original operating software. Then with the help of this upgrade, we will become able to act above, against our instincts, acquiring a truly free choice between the original program and the acquired one.

Then by using this free choice wisely — choosing to go with the Natural upgrade instead of the initial, “raw”, self-destructive software — we can solve all our global problems in Human society, while also becoming benevolent partners with Nature, avoiding all kinds of calamities, natural catastrophes that await us around the corner as long as we maintain the instinctive progress.
