Rival gangs will have to coexist peacefully

Question from the Internet:

Can rival gangs coexist peacefully?

They can and they have to.

We evolved into a globally integrated, interdependent world, where in order to survive we will have to learn how to build mutually responsible, mutually complementing relationships, cooperation.

It is like rival gangs dividing their territories according to certain agreements, they respect the mutual boundaries, while in certain things that is mutually beneficial for them, they cooperate, help each other.

If they start a turf war they both lose, weaken and then other gangs can take what they have. Thus the fragile peace, mutual cooperation is more beneficial for all than trying to invade, take what the others have.

We can translate this to normal life as well, for example looking at political parties as ruthless gangs that only care about their own power, intake, profit. But at the same time they have the responsibility to serve, represent the interest of their nation and work out a way of governing, developing the country for the sake of all.

Unfortunately the political parties forgot about their responsibilities by now, and they care only about the turf war, completely forgetting about the people they are supposed to represent. In truth nowadays political parties are much worse than crime gangs, the mafia, as those organizations are looking after simple people much more, better than politicians.

Nevertheless in today’s fully integrated, interdependent system we don’t have a choice.

Either we learn how to live side by side, respecting each other’s turf while cooperating on any issue necessary to keep the peace and develop together, or we will perish — the already sinking global boat will take all of us with it to the bottom.
