Peace in the world will come only when we achieve true, inner peace
Question from the Internet:
“Why do war and peace always alternate in most countries’ history?”
Because it reflects the incessant inner war in people.
We are all born with an inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, subjective and exploitative nature. We all thrive on excessive accumulation of resources, profit, wealth, and we are the happiest when we do so at the expense of others.
At the same time we are social creatures, we can’t survive without the mutual connection, cooperation with other people in different, ever growing circles.
Thus Human history is a helplessly recurring chain of vicious cycles as we keep rebuilding societies, civilizations with the hope that we find the right formula, governing, economic and social system that can provide a sustainable, peaceful structure for all. Then as time goes by our inherent nature, Human ego starts to distort, corrupt the ideology, structure we used until the civilization explodes, self-destructs.
Our own civilization is now standing on the threshold of this “civilization-ending” explosion which the virus only highlighted, brought forward but didn’t cause. And we corrupted the most developed, most promising socioeconomic combo of liberal parliamentary democracy and free-market capitalism!
Right now we are truly at a dead-end, as apart from trying to reuse systems, ideologies - running from right to left and again left to right, while inciting was when we are stuck - that we already failed with we have nowhere to go!
The only solution that can prevent an unprecedented global disaster - that can reach is from multiple causes, multiple locations - is to understand and solve the inner war in us. We need to learn how to fully reveal and then harness, channel the all-powerful, irrepressible selfish, exploitative ego in us - all of us - until we can use its immense power for positive, constructive goals, purposes.
