Our only choice is about which forces we want to govern us
Question from the Internet:
“Why don’t people need to be governed?”
People need to be governed; we are governed by default. The question is, who or what is governing us?!
We think we are governed by leaders, governments, dictators or the so-called “elite” behind the scenes. Ans we all try to fight against any form of “external control” as we all feel we should be free, independently governing ourselves.
But the truth is, we are all inherently governed by our 100% self-serving, self-justifying, subjective and exploitative egos. We all make calculations only for our own sake, and we all — knowingly or unknowingly — succeed at the expense of others through ruthless and exclusive competition.
Moreover, this ego controlling us is not even “our own”. We did not create or develop this ego controlling us from within. Nature’s evolution installed this human ego in us to control and drive human evolution to the breaking point we are at right now.
Nature has been pulling and pushing us through history’s helplessly recurring vicious cycles as we have been blindly following everything our inherent ego dictated.
But Nature also installed in us a unique human intellect and perception. Through it, we can recognize our “alien” human ego governing us, driving us towards self-destruction.
Through the same human intellect, we can also recognize that Nature’s own finely balanced and mutually integrated system is perfect compared to what the human ego made us build and develop.
While our human system is built on destruction, based on the control, manipulation and exploitation of each other and Nature, Nature’s system creates and nurtures life through mutual responsibility and mutually complementing cooperation.
As a result, today, we have reached the point of free choice for the first time in history. Nature offers us two different options. We can choose to remain under the governance of the instinctive human ego driving us towards self-destruction. Or, we can choose to take upon ourselves the governance of Nature’s evolutionary and life-creating forces.
Either way, we are going to be governed. But if we choose to subjugate ourselves to Nature’s positive, life-creating and life-nurturing forces and adapt ourselves to Nature’s mutual integration — in contrast to our inherently selfish and egoistic instincts, we will become Nature’s only conscious, integrated and at the same time independent observers and equal partners.
Whether we like it or not, we are basically “puppets” in Nature’s cosmic game, in a unique educational process that can make us truly Human beings. Still, by making the right choice and willingly becoming “like Nature,” we can reach a realistic, tangible sense that we have designed and governed the whole system by ourselves!
