Only our goals and intentions matter, nothing else!
Question from the Internet:
“What is more detrimental to humankind? The invention of nuclear weapons or the invention of plastic?”
It does not matter what we invent, create and use. What is important is the goals we invent and use things for and the intentions for our actions.
Since inherently all our intentions are 100% self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, and individualistic, everything we invent, build, and use is only for selfish benefit and to control, manipulate, exploit, and destroy others and nature.
As we can see from history, one can control, manipulate, exploit, and destroy others with bombs or even with medicine and food. One can kill with a machine gun with a screwdriver, or even with water.
The tools and objects do not matter. Only our goals and intentions matter.
If we want to change how we live and in what direction this world is going, the only thing that needs changing is ourselves. We — everybody on themselves — have to change our goals and intentions from selfish and destructive to altruistic and constructive.
And this has nothing to do with religions, philosophies, “ethics and morals,” New Age methods, or mysticism. We have to learn and practice how to exist for each other’s sake and how to build a nature-like, mutually responsible, and mutually complementing global Human entity because nature’s laws and evolution’s flow demand this from us.
Either we learn and implement these laws, or we suffer and become extinct. This is a very simple and scarily realistic equation. And today, we can feel, see, and taste this in a very realistic and visceral manner in the globally integrated and interdependent world we have evolved into.
