On the brink of freedom and positive change

Question from the Internet:

“Has society gone too far in the wrong direction to continue to progress in a positive manner?”

We have gone in the wrong direction as far as we could. We are on the brink of self-destruction as we speak. But specifically, because we are entering desperately helpless states, where we will all see that we cannot solve our problems that we ourselves created and that we are doomed, we will have the chance to start progressing in a good and positive direction.

So far, we have been driven by our insatiable and all-powerful ego that twists and turns everything to its benefit. We have been 100% self-serving and self-justifying, exploiting and consuming everything for our own benefit. we have been existing and acting like cancer, which is why we reached this point of seemingly no return.

Our ego will yield and allow us to change our behaviour and how we exist only when it feels its imminent self-destruction. This is beautifully symbolized in the story of the Exodus, describing how the Pharaoh had to go through ten devastating blows before he let the Hebrews go. The whole story is about our own ego letting us “go” and start a completely new, altruistic and collective human development above and against the ego.

We are in the moment of those devastating blows. How far and how deep we have to fall into these blows depends on how quickly we recognize the need to change our behaviour and development and how quickly we identify our inherent ego as our own enemy and hater.
