Nuclear war is not the only threat humanity is facing
Question from the Internet:
“Is nuclear war still the most urgent global threat facing humanity?”
No, a potential nuclear war is just one of the threats facing humanity in our times.
Climate change with its violent weather changes, unbearable heat, loss of water supply, loss of ocean life; our total inability to cope with global pandemics, plagues as we observed; the predictable and inevitable global socioeconomic collapse due to a human system based on excessive overconsumption, unequal distribution and of course the threat of war when leaders have no other “solutions” can all initiate a global meltdown — at any moment — that can wipe most of humanity out.
Still, we can avoid such a scenario — provided we recognize, accept the inherent;y self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, and exploitative human nature (that drives all of us) as the root cause of all these symptoms.
Then we can solve our present problems and prevent new ones by consciously, methodically, proactively changing ourselves — instead of trying to change, cancel others.
