“Never Again!” still remains an empty slogan for Jews!

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

We should stop expecting the external world to take “Never Again!” seriously, as long as we ourselves use it as an empty slogan!

Have we done everything in order to make sure that the Holocaust or similar tragedy for Jews will not ever happen again?!

Do we really think that the fact that we have a state — although still without final and defendable borders — and we have an army — where recruits can sometimes say they do not want to serve under certain politicians and which army depends on the life-support from others — will stop such calamities?!

How can we expect the world to take us seriously when we are again and again ready to incite civil war on the Jewish State when, even during an existential war, serious politicians and a large part of the media are already plotting their next moves in order to undermine the acting government and make large-scale efforts to split and fragment society while encouraging others to act against their own Nation?!

“Never Again!” should start by making sure that we never again allow the inherently self-serving, self-justifying, exploitative, and hateful human nature to turn us against one another — regardless of our political or spiritual ideology or belief.

We are still very far from “Never Again!” becoming our reality as we are still ignoring and forsaking the very method of unity and mutual guarantee that made us a true Nation millennia ago!
