Nature will correct us if we don’t do it proactively
Question from the Internet:
“All things considered, what is the peak of the world population? When will that happen?”
This is not a decision humanity has to make.
We are — contrary to our popular belief — integral parts of Nature’s fully integrated, carefully governed system and balance. The strict, “iron laws" that sustain this balance and the homeostasis life depends on are obligatory for us as much as they are obligatory to any other element, species in Nature.
If we overpopulate, if we consume more than we need, sooner or later — and for the system it doesn’t matter if it is a few decades of a few millennia — Nature will correct the human anomaly by collapsing our human systems, reducing our population and consumption through different blows from it infinite toolbox.
Many signs are pointing at the probability that for example the pandemic and the ensuing, inevitable global socioeconomic meltdown, together with the “climate change" is already such an intervention from the system.
If we are wise, then we learn how to adjust, adapt ourselves to Nature’s overall balance and homeostasis instead of waiting for these inevitable blows, intolerable suffering to force us.
