Movies and books that are making great impressions

The “Matrix” made a huge impression showing very graphically the society we live in.
“Cloud Atlas” was also very good at showing how interconnected we are, how much our lives are inevitably intertwined within the same generation and through generations, and that none of us is living for ourselves.
“Transcendence” hinted at the possibility of “non-material” existence through a “collective cloud” where we all become parts of the same network.
Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” books describe how human evolution unfolds and how, in the end, the inherently selfish, egocentric, and individualistic human beings have to choose a collective existence with a single, collective consciousness.
