Moses, the perfect leader

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

We possess the most comprehensive, precise, and verified “User Guide to Reality.”

The Torah is not a religious document; it gives us the necessary instructions and templates to learn how to live.

Among all the instructions and templates, it also shows the perfect leader in the form of Moses.

Regardless of whether Moses actually existed or not, through his example, we can learn the necessary attributes of the perfect leader.

Such a leader is humble but strong and steadfast and can be “ruthless” when necessary. He accepts advice from sages like Yitro and shares leadership when necessary with Aaron or Yoshua, for example.

He selflessly and unconditionally exists for the Nation.

Most importantly, he connects his Nation with reality’s single operating force, without which nothing is possible. Besides having the attributes to “communicate” with this force, he also teaches his people how to communicate and connect to this force.

He leads them to recognize the inherent “unfounded hatred” between them and shows them how to rise above that hatred — without erasing it — and cover this hatred with “supernatural” — above instinctive nature — “brotherly love” so they can build a Nation on unity and mutual guarantee — despite everything that tries to reject and separate them. All the while, he harnesses reality’s single governing force to help his people exist and behave above and against their instincts.

We still possess the same purposeful and practical method. We just need people to implement it
