Moses is the perfect role model for a leader

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

I will try hard not to comment on the initial idea of this article.

This is the best period in the Jewish calendar for finding the proper role model for a leader for Israel. There is no better leader than Moses, who was completely devoted and sacrificed himself to serve both his Nation and the single governing force of reality, establishing a unique bond between Israel and this single force.

But even Moses could not have united the Hebrews in Egypt if they did not need him.

Moses appeared when the Israelites already wanted to escape Egype — symbolically escaping their own inherent egos — in order to progress towards the Land of Israel — the godly qualities of selfless and unconditional love and bestowal — accepting on themselves the law of “Love your friend as yourself” through a “supernatural” mutual guarantee above and despite the inherently selfish, exploitative and hateful ego still influencing them.

Israel will have a leader — or leaders — like Moses when the Nation is ready — through the right education and mutual influence — to rise above their individualistic and selfish egos and commit themselves to the unique unity “as one man with one heart,” moving towards a single direction above and incorporating all the diversity and differences of opinion for the sake of the whole.

As long as the Nation remains selfishly fragmented (each for themselves only), we will have leaders like today, incapable of any meaningful decisions or vision.
