Moral Compass

My comment:

I do not understand what “moral compass” we expect from the so-called West.

We are all born with an inherently self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic nature.

The so-called West, especially America, is the peak, the culmination, the maximal development of this human ego and self-service, where everything is only about the selfish and narcissistic individual.

The “West” shows what it means when we exist and behave like cancer cells in an otherwise fully integrated and interdependent world.

Make no mistake about it: we all — and all so-called “developing nations and cultures” — aspire to be like the “West.”. We all want the “American Dream” where I can have whatever I want at all costs.

Thus, what moral compass do we expect from the best when only the actual, minute-by-minute selfish interest counts nothing else?!

We all need the unique “Jewish method” that can teach us how to exist and behave above and against our inherent nature. Only through the Jewish method can we build and maintain the crucially important unity and mutual guarantee that is our lifeline in this interconnected and interdependent world.

Jews and Israel need to show a positive example by reviving and using our own method.

Then, when we exist and behave independently of our inherent nature, only for the sake of others and for the sake of the whole, we will have a real “moral compass” inherited from nature’s life-creating system.
