Living in social insecurity
--
Question from the Internet:
“Could it be that we don’t need technological corrections to make us secure, that we need social insecurity to justify technological corrections?”
We cant achieve social security with technology.
Our social insecurity comes from the fact that we keep building societies based on our inherently selfish, subjective, exploitative nature, based on ruthless, exclusive competition where we each try to succeed, survive at each other’s expense.
This is why we are constantly on the edge, a small, stronger, more powerful minority exploiting the rest each fearing, distrusting the other.
And technology is simply a tool we use to pursue, fulfill our self-serving desires and fight against, control each other.
We can achieve “social security”, we can build better, safer, more, relatively equal, and sustainable societies only when we rise above our inherent nature and start building Nature-like, mutually responsible, mutually complementing connections, cooperation based on common goals, aspirations, purposes.
And I do not think we are lacking such collective, mutual goal, aspiration when our collective survival depends on understanding and solving the mounting global problems together! When we start cooperating we can also use our technology for positive, constructive purposes to assist us.
