Jewish education is the foundation for everything!

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

I fully agree. Education is the foundation for everything.

In order for Israel to survive the constant external threats and internal explosions, in order to fulfill our unique role in the world, and become the positive example everybody will follow, we need a unique, “Jewish and national” education based on our original foundations.

This does not mean the usually understood “religious education.”

How we look at “religion” today only causes separation between us since the most important principle and law is missing from it.

Original Judaism, the “religion” great sages like Rav Yehuda Ashlag or Rav Kook, for example, wrote about is the primary commandment of the Torah: “Love your Friend as yourself.”

We merited the reception of the Torah, and we survived and defeated empires only when we pledged to cover the inherent “unfounded hatred” between us — which burns in each and every human being against others — with a special “brotherly love” Jews know how to learn and practice above and against the inherently egotistic, subjective, hateful and individualistic human nature.

Without this most fundamental principle and the unity that emerges from them, no other commandments and no political, social, or economic systems will work.

This is why our education has to start with relearning and reimplementing our original unity, exactly how the Torah teaches. We need to understand what it means “to be Jewish” and what our crucially important and irreplaceable role is in the world.
