It depends on us how we will remember COVID19
--
We proud ourselves to be free, independent creatures.
Thus it depends on us what the pandemic is going to be remembered by, it depends on how we use the lessons from it.
If we take it as a nuisance, a hiccup which disturbed our previous lifestyle, the socio-economic system we want to return to ASAP without any adjustments, we will only remember it as another pandemic while we continue our blind instinctive sleepwalk towards our own civilization-ending explosion - as part of Human history's recurring vicious cycles.
If we learn the extremely important lessons from it…
- We live in a globally integrated world where we all depend on each other and thus we are also totally responsible for one another…
- While our inherently selfish nature pushes us towards excessive exploitation of Nature and ruthless competition, profit, and survival at each other's expense…
…then we will understand that we have to change ourselves, we have to change how we relate to each other, that we are obligated to build “Natural” - mutually responsible and mutually complementing connections, cooperations - to solve our mounting global problems and safeguard our collective, Human survival.
Then we will remember the pandemic as a positive turning point in Human development, that woke us up and helped us in initiating a completely new, this time conscious progress above and against our blind instincts.
