Israel’s original foundations

A question from the Internet:

“You keep saying that Jews and Israel need to return to their original foundations. What are these foundations?”

Thank you for the question. The original Jewish Nation was based on mutual guarantee, which means the absolute and unconditional personal responsibility of each and every member of the Nation towards all the other members of the Nation.

This is something that requires something “supernatural” from a person; it means fulfilling the law of “Love your friend as yourself,” which in practice means loving another at least as much or even more than I love myself by birth.

This is against our inherently and 100% self-serving and self-justifying nature, which is capable of thinking about and making calculations only for one’s own sake.

This is why the original and true unity and mutual guarantee Israel was born from requires a special method that can facilitate a person to exist and behave above and against one’s inherent nature.

Jews had lost this method and the ability to live through mutual guarantee with the destruction of the Second Temple when the so-called “unfounded hatred” — our inherent nature — destroyed the bonds of “brotherly love” between our predecessors.

Since then, we only unite and cooperate when we are forced to do so, like now when fighting a common enemy, and even this unity — forced on us through collective grief and existential danger — is shaky and temporary.

Israel will have security and true prosperity; the world will accept Israel’s right to exist in the Land of Israel only when we restore our original foundations, the original unity and mutual guarantee we need to generate and keep above and against our inherent nature.
