Israel is spineless without unity!

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

This article is strong. The problem is that it doesn’t speak about the root cause of our inactions and “wait-and-see mentality. Thus, it can’t offer solutions.

Israel has no spine and does not have deterrence and true strength without true unity.

Israel was mighty and awe-inspiring when the war and the all-out assault on Hamas started.

In those weeks, we had undisputed unity — minus some numb liberal leftists and their media propaganda.

It was an instinctive unity driven by the common shock, common grief and the very real common external threat on our lives.

However, such instinctive unity — which animals are also capable of — cannot last; it is not sustainable.

Our inherently subjective, individualistic, self-serving, and self-justifying nature quickly overcomes us again, and we start the usual bickering, infighting, and undermining each other and each individual working for their own personal goals and benefit.

True unity, the true “brotherly love” life, and our survival depends on is simply not programmed in us.

It is something we need to learn, practice, and keep reviving above and against our inherent nature.

Israel is not defeated by external enemies. Israel is defeated by our own inherent nature, the human ego.

The tragedy is that, out of all people, we have the only practical and suitable method that can help us learn and implement “brotherly love” and “mutual guarantee” above and against inherent human nature.

Without using this method we have no chance.
