Is UBI the solution in times of great crisis?

The use for UBI

As I understand UBI, it a guaranteed, automatic non-refundable payment that is not tied to any work or service provided by those who receive it.

I guess in extreme, dramatic situations when the economy, financial systems totally collapse this could work, allowing people to obtain their natural necessities — although it is unclear how in such a dire, dramatic scenario any kind of monetary system would work.

Why is UBI “inhumane”?

There are two major problems with UBI which arise from our inherently proud, egocentric, individualistic Human nature where our self-esteem, self-worth is our more treasured possession.

If we receive something for nothing, if we receive ‘alm”, donations without giving anything back in return, we feel unbearable, burning shame inside as such a scenario lowers us from a Human to a sub-Human level, being dependant on the “mercy”, donations of others.

If we do not perform actual work, if we do not feel useful, mutually contributing to Human society, the same happens, we lose our “Humanity”, we feel ourselves useless, as a ballast, burden to others.

This is the main problem with being unemployed, which is a greater problem than actually not having money — above having the most important necessities fulfilled.

Organizing a “Humane” Human society

Thus the greatest challenge, a task we have in the new state we are heading towards is to organize society in a way, that each person has some kind of mutually responsible, mutually complementing, contributing activity towards the collective, for which one receives the appropriate reward, a salary that can help the person to cover one’s natural, healthy, modern, Human necessities for oneself and for one’s family, so one can continue contributing.

For this, the new society will need to focus on the Human beings rather than excessive production and consumption. Providing everyone with basic work will be more important than productivity, efficiency with robotization. The virus and the crisis will “help” us in this respect, wiping out all that is unnecessary for a normal, healthy and happy Human life — when health, happiness is primarily provided by the positive, constantly strengthened Human connections.

In order to organize such an “ideal” — but not idealistic, or utopistic since it is based on Nature’s unbending laws obligating us — Human society we need a unique, purposeful and practical educational method which can help us balance our inherently selfish, egoistic, exploitative tendencies (which bing us into perpetual crisis) with nature’s perfect template.

The Human ego as a positive driving force

Finally, when we say that we are all egotistic, individualistic, and selfish, it simply describes the original operating software we are born with.

This is neither good nor bad, we did not have any free choice about the nature we were born with from Nature. There is an evolutionary purpose for this, and when we understand it and start purposefully, methodically using our egos in a positive, constructive way, we will see that the ego is a good, great force without which we could not function, progress.

With the help of the above mentioned unique educational method — that can help us build the above mentioned new society — we will be able to use our inherent egos as the engine that drives us forward, which ego will be balanced, channeled by the template we learn from Nature.
