Is Trump right about Covid-19 finishing off Globalization?

Yes and no.

“Globalization” — existing in a fully, globally integrated and interdependent world is not man-made, our global existence is just starting.

The way we used globalization so far — mutually exploiting it for our own sake, profit, competing, surviving at each other’s sake — is over. The pandemic highlighted our inherently selfish, egocentric, and greedy nature, disrupting all previous alliances, cooperation that was all built on negative intentions purposes as they all served our egos.

Trump — similarly to all other present leaders, public opinion influencers — would not be able to comprehend what “globalization” truly means, as there are brought up, educated to serve themselves and maximum, to a certain extent serve their nations — as long as it also serves their personal interest.

(On the other hand, out of their hatred instigated by the media people miss the fact that Trump has been raising a lot of important, uncomfortable questions about how the world, our societies have been operating, of course also from a personal, subjective point of view. But we missed the chance to think about the validity and usefulness of those questions so far)

In fact, we are all programmed for the egocentric, selfish existence, at each other’s expense.

This is why we need a unique, purposeful and practical educational method to learn and feel what it mean to live in a global, integral system, to be locked together into a single network where there is such a circulation, the communication we all have to sustain, facilitate in a manner of “all or nothing”.

Our new situation after COVID-19 is very, very simple: we either all survive together or we all perish. And since the virus showed this situation very clearly we can’t even claim ignorance or lack of information. Thus from Nature’s evolutionary point of view, the true period of reward and punishment — success by keeping nature’s laws, crisis, and suffering in case we don’t — start now!
