Is there such a thing as “inherent human morality”?

Question from the Internet:

“What do you think about inherent human morality?”

In truth, we do not have any inherent “morality.”

What we have, is an inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, and subjective nature that provides a very limited and totally distorted perception of reality and consciousness.

Our “inherent morality” and sense of “justice” or “right vs. wrong” is dictated by this inherent nature and the limited perception and consciousness we live by.

This is why human beings — within the same society or between different societies — could never agree on a “standard morality” or system of “right vs. wrong,” and even when we tried to establish such systems through religions or public laws, we constantly break our own religions and laws.

We won’t be able to come to a “common standard” in relation to “morality, justice, and system of right vs. wrong” unless, first of all, we learn how to acquire a totally selfless and thus objective perception of reality and we start relating to others and the world through it.

“True morality” is expressed in the very old, often quoted but never used principle of “Love others as yourself.” We have to come to such a state — through the above-mentioned improved perception and consciousness — that we start seeing “others” as our own integral parts.

This is our actual state in the globally integrated and interdependent world we find ourselves in, except that our inherent ego shows us a broken and fragmented picture where we are all independent and separated from each other, constantly fighting each other.

By learning how to sense and research reality outside of the egocentric and subjective sphere we are born into, we come to feel that whole system as a single whole and ourselves as healthy, individual cells in it. Then it will be “natural” to come to that totally selfless and unconditional love of others since, at the end of the day, through them, I still love “my self” — the whole system.
