Is humanity failing?
Question from the Internet:
“Is human society on a downhill trajectory?”
We could say that present human society — that is based on our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and individualistic nature — has failed.
We have reached the limit of how far we can develop by excessively overconsuming everything we can while we only think about how to fulfil our own desires and presumed needs while ruthlessly competing and succeeding and the expense of others and Nature.
We cannot develop any further through our inherent nature since we are completely incompatible with Nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated system and the laws of Nature that govern the general balance and homeostasis life depends on.
But while this instinctive and blind human development has reached a dead-end, we have the opportunity and ability to start a completely different, this time conscious development above and independent of our selfish and egoistic instincts.
We have the unique human intellect that is capable of critical self-assessment and initiating unprecedented self-development in order to align ourselves with Nature’s system. If we choose to initiate such a new development we can use all our experiences from the past and present as useful background and contrast to evaluate our new, “Nature-like”, mutually responsible and mutually complementing integration and cooperation.
