Is “culling” Humanity a valid solution for our problems?!

Opinion from the Internet:

“With more than 7 billion people in the world and rising, there is a need for a cull — harsh as this may sound. Nature has its means, and there will be many more pandemics to come. The consequential effects on today’s youth will long outlast the lives of those we are trying to protect, namely the old and vulnerable. While most of us have old and vulnerable relatives, friends, or neighbors, life cannot be locked down forever. Yes, of course, sensible measures should be taken, and many positives have come out of this, but are the measures a price worth paying? I think not. The real vulnerable is arguably those locked up with their abusers, the poor, the needy… The aftershock will roll on long into the future. Mass unemployment, social unrest, while the baby boomers hide behind their fattened shields. In a secular world, we hold on to dear life. Sentimental drivel. Let it roll. Amen.”

I know that this “solution” sounds logical, even attractive. And I can imagine that some world leaders, parts of the so-called 1% are actively preparing the wars to facilitate “culling” the global Human population while they hide in their bunkers.

Still, I have to objections:

  1. When we examine Nature’s perfect system and what it can offer in an objective, non-exploitative way, we can come to the conclusion that with a lifestyle that is built on rational, natural necessities, available resources, and fair distribution, Earth could serve much more than 8 billion people.
  2. Sorry for the parallel but Human beings right now behave, exist like weed or cancer. Thus the natural “solution” is either to completely eradicate Humans or to teach them to change their destructive, all-consuming nature, program. Culling the population without changing how we live, act, exist won’t change anything but it’s the next similar self-destructive state a few years, generations into the future and those who do the culling and stay alive will be even more egotistic, ravenous so even with fewer people they will come to blows with each other and Nature soon. For the same reason colonizing other planets — even if we could — is also not an option without first changing, upgrading Human beings.
  3. Moreover, anybody who thinks that a next, probably nuclear world war can be directed, controlled, contained has lost their mind. And if we wait for Nature to do the culling then we lost our mind even more. Who guarantees that the next pandemic is not targeting children, or teenagers specifically, or what happens if Nature chooses another weapon like earthquakes, tsunamis, sun flares, increasing temperatures to unliveable levels?!

Thus the solution is education, teaching people how to exist in Nature’s finely balanced system, how to rebuild society on mutual responsibility — which includes consumption, distribution, family planning, cooperation, etc — in order to change from a warring collection of individual cancer cells to a healthy, single, integrated, living Human “super-organism”.

This is where we stand and we have a free choice. We can proudly maintain we don’t need to change but others have to change, so let’s wait for the culling playing Russian roulette.

Or we take the other road and start changing ourselves, adapting to Nature as Nature’s laws of integration demand.
