Individually we will become extinct; collectively we are the strongest species in Nature

“Are humans, collectively, too stupid to solve climate change?”

It is the opposite, actually. Individually or nationally, we are too stupid to solve any global problems. And we could solve any present problems and prevent any future ones collectively.

But at present, we cannot do “collectively”.

When you look at any approach or attempt to react to the pandemic, climate change, pollution, poverty or any other collective and global problems, you always see egocentric and subjective attempts when individuals and nations care only for their own, while trying to succeed and survive at each other’s expense.

This stems from our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and individualistic nature.

We keep talking about a global and integrated world, but when it comes to actions, we still act as if we were all independent, standalone beings that can do whatever they want. We talk and write about “sitting on the same, sinking boat”, but we are still very busy drilling holes underneath one another, not understanding that when the boat sinks, we all drown.

Collectively, becoming a single, mutually integrated and cooperating organism, humanity could become the peak of Natural evolution, the only fully conscious part of Nature. As long as we blindly follow our egotistic and individualistic instincts, we are headed for extinction.
