In order to know our natural necessities first we need to integrate into Nature
Question from the Internet:
“How might we change perception and behavior in developed cultures in regards to over-purchasing food, which eventually goes to waste?”
We accumulate resources excessively for ourselves as we do not trust the world and we do not know how much we actually need to live and survive.
By default we are disconnected from Nature’s integral, balanced system where all inanimate, vegetative and animate parts instinctively, automatically sense what they need, what they have to do, they never overconsume, never overpopulate — unless either natural catastrophe or Human interference breaks the usual balance and homeostasis.
We are born inherently sensing ourselves as “outsiders” in relation to Nature, forced to live in a seemingly hostile world where we have to exclusively, ruthlessly fight for day to day survival.
And despite the different social systems, agreements we try building in our societies, we do not trust anything or anybody, as everything we build is built on this distrust and inevitable exploitation of each other, reaching success and survival at the expense of others and Nature.
This will not change until we learn — through a unique, purposeful, and highly practical method — how to build Human societies on the template Nature uses. We need to gradually build such absolute trust, “mutual guarantee” between people — starting with initially small, closed environments, cells — where it becomes possible to create the Nature-like mutually responsible and mutually complementing connections, cooperation, where each will make the calculations for the sake of the collective above and despite the inherently self-serving, egocentric calculations.
When we achieve such mutual integration, as a result of the acquired similarity we will also start to sense Nature’s intrinsic balance, homeostasis and we will also know without doubts what our true necessities are, what the available resources are. Then the initial cells will grow and merge, gradually encompassing the whole of Humanity, transforming our lives and development.
But contrary to other elements in Nature we will reach this consciously, by our own efforts. This will make us the truest, perfect “empirical, Natural scientists, sensing, researching Nature from within.
