I do not think we eliminated pressure from Nature at all.
No city walls can keep out viruses, climate change caused influences.
No city walls can prevent the inevitable global socioeconomic collapse because we are stubbornly forcing an unnatural human system that is based on excessive overconsumption and ruthless competition, where we thrive on succeeding at each other’s and Nature’s expense.
Our markets, our trade, and our economy are simply the external expression of human nature and how we relate to each other, in other words it is simply the consequence of our inner program. If we want to make any meaningful change, it is that cause — our nature, inner program — that needs changes, not the consequences.
You are right, our truly Human uniqueness is our conscious ability to cooperate and adapt. But we haven’t actually used this unique Human ability ever before. So far we blindly followed our inherent self-serving, self-justifying, egoistic nature, destroying everything around ourselves like cancer.
It is time we start using our special, unparalleled human adaptability now before it is too late.
