Human society is a living organism we are all integral parts of
Question from the Internet:
“What kind of circumstances (social, human, political, etc.) would cause you to withdraw from society? Where would you go if you could withdraw from society?”
There aren’t any circumstances when we could withdraw from society, from connection with other people.
As we can see, hear and feel, we have evolved into a globally integrated and fully interdependent world, where we have all, in effect, become like single cells of a closed, living organism. One who tries to disconnect from society in any way becomes like a severed organ or cell that loses its vitality and possibility to survive.
We do not tangibly feel our interdependence by default, but it does not mean it is real and influences everything we do. By default, we believe we are independent and standalone beings that can do whatever they wish and become disturbed when they realize that they have to accommodate themselves to others and to society. The root cause of all our problems is that each individual and nation behaves and exists as if they could act independently of each other and harm each other to succeed and survive.
With that, we are consuming ourselves like cancer, and humanity has reached the brink of self-destruction.
This is why we urgently need a unique, purposeful and practical educational method that can not only help us understand but also make us “viscerally” feel our total interdependence and what we gain by accepting our integrated conditions and what we lose by ignoring them.
