Question from the Internet:

“Are you a believer in the Enlightenment notion of reason and progress and the harnessing of nature for the betterment of human society or are you a romantic and why?”

I am neither a believer in the Enlightenment notion cited above nor am I a romantic.

I am an empirical natural scientist and I believe, I know that our task is to consciously, methodically harness, channel our inherently selfish, egocentric, individualistic, and exploitative human nature in order to build a “truly Human” society that becomes integrated into, compatible with Nature’s perfectly balanced, integral template.

It is specifically this proactive, conscious adaptation to Nature — above and against our original nature — that makes us “Human beings, the peak of Natural evolution.

And this has nothing to do with any of our arbitrary, subjective, egocentric philosophies, ideologies, or religions, it is all according to Nature’s strict, unchanging and unforgiving laws we need to learn and align ourselves with.
