Being Human means consciously integrating into Nature
Opinion from the Internet about “cruelty” in Nature:
“I’m truly sorry to have to ask this, but where in nature do we not see constant conflict and positioning for place, food, and increased viability of reproduction at the expense of others?
In herds? in families? in whole societies? In ancient “clans”, or armies, or kingdoms, or ??? yet nature is usually in harmony because of these features.
Do flowers not compete for soil and sunlight? Do not some overshade others as a survival trait? Do some tortoises not flip others in battle over females?
When we see what we believe is harmony, it is actually a balance of these traits within groups of all sizes.
The Lion needs the gazelle, as the gazelle needs the lion, yet that harmony plays out in violent death.”
You are completely right.
I can give you another, even closer example: if we were conscious of what’s happening inside our own body on the cellular level we would go crazy, feeling, seeing the constant war, destruction, rebuilding, replacing that goes on even when we are healthy or sleeping peacefully.
Still there is a very great difference between how this constant upheaval unfolds in Nature and how it happens in Humanity.
In Nature everything remains within the constantly controlled, sustained fragile balance and homeostasis without which life, optimal development is impossible. As you said the lion eats the gazelle as it has to hunt and eat for survival. And the role of the gazelle is to provide the meat for the lion - and unconsciously they are both aware of their part.
Moreover the predators usually eat the weakest specimens of the prey, with that helping the successful evolution of the prey’s species with natural selection. And the lion eats only what it needs and leaves the rest for the secondary predators, scavengers.
The so called “circle of life” is never broken.
In Humanity this upheaval unfolds in a completely unnatural, egocentric, individualistic way, in complete ignorance of Nature’s laws that sustain balance, homeostasis. We “kill” literally or symbolically, accumulate resources only for ourselves, moreover we consciously enjoy succeeding at the expense of others.
Translating our behavior to our biological body, reach Human being behaves like cancer.
This is why we need to learn how to scale, adjust our life, activity to fit within the optimal parameters of natural necessities and available resources.
And this is the point!
We were created this “cancerous” way by Nature for a reason. Only by consciously, purposefully, methodically changing, adapting ourselves so we become “truly Human” - the only creatures in Nature with full awareness of the system, becoming Nature’s inner witnesses, objective observers!
And only when we become similar to Nature and by that we start understanding its laws, cause and effect processes will we understand why such violent encounters, wars, destructive processes happen in Nature and what purpose they serve.
