How should we understand “globalization”?

“Globalization is a reality. It is changing as society develops. It has happened before and is still happening today. Can you explain this statement?”

To tell you honestly I do not fully understand this statement.

I agree with the first sentence, “Globalization” is our reality. And it is true that we always existed in a global, fully integrated system — in Nature’s fully integrated and interdependent system — but we were not aware of it.

Now, due to humanity saturating the planet, due to the technological, social development and the exploitation of finite resources we have come to realize that we live in a world where everything and everybody is inevitably interconnected and that we all inevitably depend on each other.

“Globalization” — existence in a global, integral world is not something humanity developed. It is Nature’s default state and since we are also integral parts of nature, the laws, principles that govern Nature’s mutual integration are also obligatory for us.

We can start solving our mounting global problems, we can secure, safeguard our continuing collective survival only when we learn how to adapt ourselves to Nature’s integral template — above and against our inherently “anti-Nature”, egoistic, subjective and individualistic tendencies, inclination.
