How our “occupation” defines us

“Why do we most commonly assign our identity to our occupation?”

Because we many times associate purpose in life with our occupation, and with the material possessions, self-fulfillment we receive from this occupation, from the reward, earning from it.

It is similar to our true, evolutionary Human purpose in life actually.

Our true, evolutionary human purpose is to consciously, methodically find our most optimal, ideal, mutually responsible, and mutually complementing place, role in Human society.

Especially as we evolved into a globally integrated and fully interdependent world, we can easily see now that we are not isolated, standalone beings with completely free, individual choices about what we want or do.

Instead, we are all but individual cells of the same, living Human “superorganism”, where life, survival depends on each cell performing their unique, irreplaceable role to their best ability, while they justly, proportionately receive everything they need to maintain, continue their crucially important complementing function.

Thus in this respect, our “occupation” — role towards the wellbeing of the whole — truly defines us.
