How did we end up in a post-facts society?

Question from the Internet:

“How did we end up in a post-facts society?”

Our inherent perception of reality, all our calculations, and our decision-making are 100% egocentric and subjective. None of us have any absolute facts. None of us can see and feel reality “as it is.”

We all perceive reality through our self-serving, self-justifying, and individualistic filters.

And the human ego, which drives our consciousness and perception, has been exponentially developing, growing, and intensifying throughout history. And this ego in us has built the general “Matrix” we exist in, where everything is fake and manipulated according to the viewpoints and ulterior motives of those who hold the reins at the moment.

Suppose we want to disconnect from the baseless, harmful, and self-destructive “Matrix” of our own egos. In that case, we need to learn how to develop a truly selfless and objective perception of reality, so we can all sense reality. Each other “as we are,” so we could finally agree and cooperate in order to facilitate our survival in Nature’s fully integrated and interdependent system.
