How can we prevent the next world war?

In order to stop the next World War, we would need to recognize the reason why we are sleepwalking into one seemingly inevitably.
When we look at human history, it is basically a long chain of helplessly recurring crisis situations, conflicts and wars.
And this is because we are all driven by an inherently self-serving, ruthlessly competitive, individualistic and exploitative nature that has been intensifying all though history. We constantly thrive to control, manipulate, exploit and destroy one another by using different causes and excuses.
Unless we recognize and accept our own inherent nature before the conflicts and wars, we can never stop the next war coming. And with all the destructive abilities we have amassed and the lack of maneuverability in the global world, the next war will inevitably be a devastating world war.
Our inherently addictive nature cannot stop even when we intellectually know that not many can survive a nuclear world war. ONly whenw e learn how to control and overcome our nature and our instinctive impulses can we stop the wars and build true and lasting peace.
