How can we make the world a better place?

Question from the Internet:

“What do you do personally to make this world a better place?”

The “world” is a network of connections between people and between humanity and Nature’s integrated system. What the world is like depends on the quality of our connections.

There are no questions about human beings being inevitably interconnected and interdependent when we all know that we live in a global and integral world. But it is the quality of our interconnections that we have to examine and improve on if we want to change how we live today.

We are in an ever-deepening crisis; we are on a path of self-destruction because we all approach our mutual interconnections instinctively selfish, egocentric and exploitatively.

We connect in order to gain as much as possible from those connections for ourselves. Most of the time, we are not even aware of how much we survive and succeed at the expense of others while we constantly destroy Nature through our reckless and excessive overconsumption.

We are born with such self-serving and self-justifying nature; we do not know of any other calculations and actions but what serves us at the expense of everybody and everything else.

So if we truly want to make the world a better place, we all need to start recognizing the true intentions and calculations we approach each other with instinctively, and as a result, develop a need to change our approach and attitude towards each other.

Even if a small, critical minority of people already started doing so — changing and further developing themselves through a special method in purposefully organized small environments — they could become the pioneers showing a positive example for the rest of the people who will increasingly suffer from the worsening crisis and will be searching for a way out of suffering.
