How can we make sure we do not cause harm with our inventions?
Question from the Internet:
“When making AI shouldn’t we repeat what creation has done first through following what are the best evolutionary paths before thinking of what we can add to AI, which is essentially completely unknown and more likely to cause harm?”
It is a very good and just question.
It would be difficult to repeat the original evolutionary process when we create or invent something since we still do not fully perceive and understand how evolution works and what its purpose and intention are.
We have unique, empirical natural scientists who have been studying human nature in the context of nature’s system. They have been studying and describing for millennia how our inherent human nature is incompatible with nature’s laws and the flow of evolution, and they also created a method for correcting and further developing human nature in order to make it compatible with nature’s system and evolution.
More importantly, they describe the single, all-encompassing intention nature’s system works, which is to create and nurture life while facilitating a mutually integrated and mutually complementing natural system where each and every element selflessly and unconditionally serves the whole system in creating and nurturing life.
Thus, as integral parts of nature’s system, human beings also need to develop and maintain the same intention when creating, inventing, or introducing something into the world. We must not do anything unless we make sure that our intention is purely to facilitate life and the best and most optimal state and well-being for everyone and the whole system.
And this is the problem.
Inherently, all our calculations and intentions are 100% self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, and exploitative. We want to accumulate and consume everything only for ourselves while we use everything we can to control, manipulate, exploit, and destroy others.
As a result, the more developed we become, the more destructive and self-destructive we have also become.
Thus, we need to willingly, consciously, and proactively start learning and practicing how we can change our goals and intentions — above and against our inherent nature and instinctive inclinations — so that instead of existing and behaving like cancer, we all become mutually integrated and mutually contributing “healthy cells” in humanity’s and nature’s single, mutually integrated and interdependent system.
