How can we end suffering?
Question from the Internet:
“Can humans bring an end to suffering?”
Only humans can bring an end to suffering. This is possible only when we understand what is causing all the suffering, what has been causing the helplessly recurring vicious cycles of history, and our hapless stumbling from crisis to crisis in our times.
The root cause of all human suffering — and our war against Nature — is our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic, subjective, and exploitative nature. As long as we blindly follow our instincts — making calculations only to fulfill our insatiable, all-consuming, selfish desires for pleasure — we act like cancer in the fully integrated and interdependent world we exist in.
We will start our progress towards ending the suffering when we understand, feel that our problem-solving and collective human survival depends on building positive, sustainable, mutually responsible and mutually complementing interconnections, cooperations between us — above and against our inherent nature.
Making nice speeches, singing songs about “love” and “unity”, following philosophies, religions that speak about “loving another” is not enough. We need to learn what “true love is” — serving another unconditionally even without any hormonal, familial reason for it — we need to learn how to act against our egocentric, subjective, exploitative instincts.
For that, we need a unique, purposeful, and practical educational method.
